Churachandpur (Manipur): In a major action, security forces have recovered 16 abandoned Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in Churachandpur district of Manipur. These IEDs are said to be ANFO (paste type), which were recovered from Lungdeiphai Leinom village junction in Kangwai area under Churachandpur police station area. Security forces said on Friday that these explosives were detected during a search operation being conducted in the area. As soon as the information was received, the bomb disposal squad was called to the spot. The bomb disposal squad safely defused all the 16 IEDs. Due to this timely action, any possible loss of life and property was averted. After the incident, security arrangements and vigil have been increased in the surrounding areas.
