Big success of Sonbhadra Police in the field of cyber crime, an amount of ₹ 35,86,160/- was returned to a total of 86 victims of cyber fraud.

Under the able direction of Superintendent of Police Sonbhadra Abhishek Verma, an intensive and continuous campaign is being run against cyber crime with the aim of establishing effective control over the increasing cyber crimes in the district and providing speedy justice and relief to the citizens suffering from cyber fraud.
Under the said campaign, under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police (Nodal Cyber Crime) Anil Kumar and close supervision of Area Officer Pipri (Assistant Nodal Cyber Crime) Harsh Pandey, action was taken with utmost alertness, technical efficiency and tireless efforts by the District Cyber Cell/Cyber Crime Police Station and Cyber Help Desk formed at all the police stations of the district.
As a result of continuous, well-planned and timely action of the police, a total amount of ₹ 35,86,160/- was recovered from 86 victims affected by cyber fraud from 01.02.2026 till now in the month of February and a total amount of ₹ 23,12,636/- was recovered from 48 victims of cyber fraud in the last month of January 2026 from 01.01.2026 to 31.01.2026. The amount has been safely returned to the original bank accounts of the victims.
This remarkable success has been achieved by the District Cyber Cell through continuous monitoring of the NCRP portal, prompt cognizance of complaints received on Cyber Helpline 1930, immediate freezing of suspicious accounts, in-depth analysis of digital and technical evidence and continuous coordination with various banks.
District Sonbhadra Police is not only taking strict legal action against the criminals under the policy of zero tolerance towards cyber crimes, but is also working with full commitment and sensitivity to safely return the money of the common people who are victims of cyber fraud.
District Sonbhadra Police appeals to the common citizens that in case of any kind of cyber fraud, immediately call the cyber helpline number 1930 or lodge a complaint on cybercrime.gov.in, so that effective action can be ensured in time.
