Train Accident:A major train accident has occurred in Jamui district in Bihar. A goods train laden with cement has derailed. The accident happened around 12 o’clock in the night on the Jasidih-Jhajha main railway section under Asansol Railway Division of Northern Railway. The goods train met with such an accident that 17 bogies derailed. 3 bogies fell into the river. 2 bogies derailed and overturned and 12 bogies ran over each other. As soon as the news of the accident was received, there was panic in the Railway Department.
An accident happened on a bridge built on a river.
According to the information received, a goods train loaded with cement was coming on the up track from Jasidih side when it met with an accident near Telwa Bazaar halt in the middle of Jasidih-Jhajha main railway section. The goods train derailed on bridge number 676 on Badhua river. Due to the wavering, 17 coaches of the train derailed and the engine moved ahead carrying the remaining coaches. After feeling a strong shock, the pilot switched off the engine and came down to see that the coaches had landed and three coaches had fallen into the Badhua River.

The pilot informed the railway officials about the accident. Railway officials reached the spot along with RPF-GRP and police force. A crane was called and the coaches were pulled out from the river. The derailed coaches were brought back on track. Although there was no loss of life in the accident, the gardener had to suffer financial loss. The reason for the accident is not known, hence the Railway Department has ordered an investigation into the accident. Besides, all the trains passing through the accident affected railway section have also been diverted.
Trains standing at Jhajha-Jasidih station
PRO Bipla Bori of Asansol Division said that 17 coaches of a train loaded with cement have derailed in Jamui district and 3 coaches were found fallen inside the river. Due to disruption of railway routes after the accident, many trains had to be stopped at Jhajha and Jasidih stations. Station manager Akhilesh Kumar, RPF OP in-charge Ravi Kumar and PWI Randhir Kumar reached the accident site and investigated the cause of the accident, but nothing could be clarified in the preliminary investigation.
