Big update for ‘teachers’ in Bihar, strictness started
Muzaffarpur. To maintain systematic education in government schools in Bihar, the District Education Officer (DEO) has issued new guidelines regarding leave of teachers. This step has been taken following complaints that the regular arrangement of classes was being affected due to leave of more teachers simultaneously.
Main points of the new leave policy
1.Maximum leave limit: Only one teacher can be given leave every day in a primary school. Leave of maximum two teachers will be sanctioned daily in middle and higher secondary schools.
2.Prior Approval Mandatory: If in any special circumstances there is a need to grant more leave than the prescribed limit, then the Principal or Block Education Officer will have to take prior approval from the District Program Officer.
3.Application Process: It will be mandatory for teachers to apply at least a day in advance for taking leave. No absence from school will be allowed without approval.
4.Casual Leave: To take casual leave, it will be necessary to inform the competent authority through phone or WhatsApp. No teacher will be able to combine casual leave with summer or winter leave.
5.Limit and Entry: No teacher will get more than two days of special casual leave in a month. The headmaster will have to maintain separate entries of casual leave.
6.Disciplinary Action: In case of violation of rules, disciplinary action will be taken against the concerned headmaster or teacher.
goals and effects
DEO office believes that this decision will ensure regular attendance of teachers and will have a positive impact on the education of students. The government and the education department want to ensure that children’s education is not affected by any systemic lapse.
