Big update for these employees in UP, salary can be stopped!
Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh government has adopted a strict stance against officers and employees who are negligent in government work. Next month, the salaries of 44,694 officers and employees working in various government departments of the state may be stopped. The reason is that they do not use the e-office system regularly.
The Chief Minister’s Office has expressed serious displeasure in this regard. Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Sanjay Prasad has written a letter to all the Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Divisional Commissioners and District Magistrates and given clear instructions that salaries should be released only to the employees working in the e-office.
E-office mandatory, still careless
E-office system has been made mandatory in all government offices of the state, so that the functioning can be transparent and time bound. Despite this, a large number of officers and employees are disposing of files offline or are not even logging in to the e-office. According to the data, between November 21, 2025 and December 20, 2025, about 58 percent of the officers and employees did not log in to the e-office software even once.
If you don’t use it even in January, your salary will stop.
The government has given clear instructions that if these officers and employees do not use e-office regularly even in the month of January, their salaries will be stopped. The Principal Secretary has said in the letter that salary payment should be ensured only on the basis of proof of working in the e-office.
It has also been clarified in the letter that if the salary of an employee who has not worked for the entire month is released on the e-office, then the personal responsibility for this will be of the concerned head of office and Withdrawal-Disbursement Officer (DDO). With this step, an attempt has been made to fix accountability at the administrative level. The government believes that speed, transparency and accountability can be ensured in disposal of files through e-office.
