YouTube has released a big update to make its affordable Premium Lite plan even more attractive. Keeping in mind the user feedback, the company has announced to include two important features like background play and offline download in this plan. Now users will be able to watch videos without ads, as well as get the facility to play in the background and download offline, making this plan more useful than before.
This change begins rolling out today and will be fully rolled out in the coming weeks wherever Premium Lite is available. This will benefit millions of users, especially those who want a better YouTube experience at less cost.

According to the official announcement by YouTube, Premium Lite subscribers will now be able to take advantage of background play. This means that the video will continue to play even if the mobile app is minimized or the screen is locked. This feature will prove to be very useful for those listening to podcasts, long interviews or lectures. Apart from this, now the facility of offline download is also available, through which users will be able to download their favorite videos and watch them even without internet. With these changes, the video watching experience has become almost like full premium, although the full YouTube Premium plan will still be necessary for YouTube Music and music videos.
