Big update on the Former Indian batter Vinod Kambli ‘s health, Check inside

On Tuesday, former India cricketer Vinod Kambli, who had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of a private hospital in Thane district, developed a fever. However, his condition was stable, said doctors treating him. Kambli (52) is responding to the treatment for urinary tract infections, for whom he was admitted at Akruti Hospital near Bhiwandi town on Saturday (December 21), Dr Vivek Trivedi told PTI. The medical team that heads the supervision of the health of the former cricketer is Dr Trivedi. Doctors were planning to do an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) on the former India batter, but since he has developed a fever, a decision on the procedure will be made at a later time, he said. According to Dr Trivedi, clots in the brain were revealed in earlier medical examinations, which made the MRI procedure necessary.

Kambli is expected to be taken out of the ICU in a day or two and discharged after about four days, he said.

Four days back he was very critical and had developed severe urinary infection as pus had got collected in his bladder. That had been taken out on admission into hospital.

Remaining in the house for some more days would complicate his condition, opined Trivedi, adding that his blood pressure was also fluctuating when he was brought to the hospital.

However, presently, he is stable, as per the doctor.

“After that his condition will be watched carefully for the next 24 hours before the decision will be taken on whether he can be shifted out of the ICU,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Shrikant Shinde Foundation, presided over by his MP-son, and Eknath Shinde, Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister have filed the cases to support Kambli.

“By the orders of Eknath Shinde, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to him Mangesh Chiwte visited the hospital to inquire about the health condition of the ex-cricketer,” said an official release by the deputy CM’s office in Thane late Tuesday night.

Chiwte also checked with the medical staff of the hospital to ensure that Kambli receives the best possible care while he undergoes treatment.

Kalyan Lok Sabha MP Shrikant Shinde, son of Eknath Shinde, announced immediate financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh for Kambli. The release also mentioned that the assistance would be disbursed through the Dr Shrikant Shinde Foundation next week.

Apart from the above, Shrikant Shinde has also told OSD Chiwte that Kambli will continue to get support from the family in the coming days.

This was how Kambli expressed his eternal gratitude to the sensitive leadership of the state, especially to Shrikant Shinde and Eknath Shinde, the MLA of Thane District, whose supportive care and concern have extended towards him.7 The former cricketer also expressed a desire to meet personally with the Deputy Chief Minister to give thanks for the support during his hour of need, said the release.

Eknath and Shrikant Shinde are expected to visit him at the hospital soon, it said.
