Chennai: Relief news has emerged for the family of late actress Sridevi. Madras High Court has ruled in favor of Boney Kapoor, Jhanvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor in the ongoing legal dispute over Sridevi’s valuable property in Chennai. The court has completely rejected the civil suit in which the petitioners had claimed ownership of this land. This property, purchased in the name of Sridevi in ​​1988, was stuck in legal complications for a long time.

Madras High Court overturned the lower court’s decision

According to the report of ‘Bar and Bench’, Justice T.V. Thamilselvi has accepted the civil revision petition filed by Boney Kapoor and his daughters. Earlier, the Chengalpattu court had refused to dismiss the petition filed by MC Sivakami, MC Natarajan and Chandrabhanu. The High Court canceled the order of the lower court and made it clear that only Boney Kapoor and his daughters have legal rights on this property.

2.70 acres of land and that claim of 1943

This entire dispute is related to a large land parcel of 2.70 acres located in Sholinganallur, Chennai. The petitioners had claimed that they were the legal heirs of late MC Chandrasekaran and that the land originally belonged to MC Sambanda Mudaliar, who had purchased it in 1943. He alleged that he came to know about this ‘fraud’ in the year 2023, when the administration issued a ‘lease’ in the name of Boney Kapoor and his daughters. However, the court did not find sufficient substance in these claims.
