The atmosphere in the reality show Bigg Boss 19 became more heated this week when contestant Pranit More had to clarify one of his statements. In the recently aired episode, it was shown that during the argument inside the house, Praneet had made an inappropriate comment about Baseer Ali, after which the housemates as well as the audience criticized this behaviour.
After the incident, Bigg Boss called all the housemates in the living area and gave them an opportunity to talk openly on this issue. The atmosphere during the discussion was quite tense, with many members asking questions to Praneeth and objecting to his words. In response, Praneet admitted that he had lost his dignity in the heat of the debate.
Praneet folded his hands in front of the camera and said, “The meaning of what I said was absolutely wrong. I did not want to insult anyone. Basir, if anything I said has hurt you, I sincerely apologize.” After his statement, the family members heaved a sigh of relief, although some also asked whether this apology was from the heart or a part of the game strategy.
Baseer Ali, who remained calm from the beginning, showed restraint on the matter saying that he does not believe in taking any dispute forward. He said, “Everyone makes mistakes. If Praneeth is apologizing, I accept it. But hopefully such things will not happen again in the future.”
After this incident there was a flood of reactions on social media also. Many viewers expressed their displeasure over Praneeth’s behaviour, while some considered his apology move positive. Some fans said that due to stress, pressure and competition in Bigg Boss house, people often lose control, but apologizing is a sign of maturity.
Senior members of the house also came forward to calm the dispute. He explained to both the contestants that it is most important to maintain dignity in the show, because the whole country is watching them. Bigg Boss also clearly said at the end of the episode that it is the responsibility of every contestant to control language and conduct.
Experts believe that such controversies are a part of reality shows like Bigg Boss and play an important role in increasing the interest of the audience. However, when, how and how the contestants react has a big impact on both their game and image.
