Bigger target than Yuvraj’s 6 sixes: Vaibhav Suryavanshi wants to break Chris Gayle’s record of 175 runs

New Delhi . Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a fast rising young batsman in Indian cricket, has made a special identity in the world of cricket with his explosive batting at a very young age. The kind of performance he has shown at the age of just 14 has made him a big star of the future. Now this young player has also decided his next big goal. Interestingly, more than the record of hitting six sixes in an over in T20 cricket, he wants to break the record of Chris Gayle’s historic innings of 175 runs.

In fact, during the recently held annual awards ceremony of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, famous commentator Harsha Bhogle asked an interesting question to Vaibhav Suryavanshi. He was asked if he had a chance to break any of the three big records, which one would he choose. The options included the record of hitting six sixes in an over in T20 cricket, the highest innings of 175 runs in IPL and the record of fastest century in IPL.

In response to this question, Vaibhav Suryavanshi expressed his desire to break Chris Gayle’s record of 175 runs without any hesitation. He said that playing such a big innings in T20 cricket would be one of the biggest achievements for any batsman.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi made a splash as soon as he made his debut in the last IPL season. He caught the attention of cricket fans by hitting a six on the first ball of his very first match. In his debut season, he impressed everyone by scoring a brilliant century and scoring 252 runs in just seven matches.

His excellent performance continued even after IPL. He batted consistently well in domestic cricket and junior international cricket also. Thanks to his aggressive batting, India also won the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup title. In the final match played against England, Vaibhav Suryavanshi played an important role in making the team champion by playing a brilliant inning of 175 runs.

It is noteworthy that Vaibhav Suryavanshi also holds the record of scoring the second fastest century in 35 balls in the IPL. The first place in this list is Chris Gayle, who created history by scoring a century in 30 balls.

Indian star batsman Yuvraj Singh was the first to hit six sixes in an over in T20 cricket. He achieved this historic feat against England during the ICC T20 World Cup 2007 held in 2007.

  • Chris Gayle made the record of the biggest innings in the history of T20 cricket by playing an unbeaten inning of 175 runs against Pune Warriors in the 2013 IPL. The level of T20 cricket has changed a lot in the last 13 years, but till date no batsman has been able to break this record.

However, seeing the kind of aggressive batting Vaibhav Suryavanshi does, cricket fans are hopeful that in the coming times, he can challenge this historical record and maybe even break it.
