Patna: Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj Party has suffered a setback in Bihar. Leader and Bhojpuri singer Ritesh Panday, who contested from Karghar seat in Rohtas district, has resigned from the party. He posted on X that it is difficult to serve the public while working as an active member of a political party. Expressing his gratitude to the public, Pandey informed about his decision.

Ritesh Panday posted on social media that he has left the party. He has thanked Prashant Kishore and the party for getting the ticket and giving him the opportunity to contest the elections. He said that he joined Jan Suraj Party and contested the Bihar Assembly elections. Although the result was not in his favor but still he does not regret it. He did his work honestly and will continue to do so in future also.

Contested elections from Karghar: Ritesh Pandey had contested the assembly elections from Karghar seat of Rohtas district. However he had to face defeat. The Bhojpuri star got only 16,298 votes and stood at fourth position. JDU's Bashistha Singh emerged victorious with 92,485 votes, while BSP's Uday Pratap Singh came second with 56,809 votes and Congress's Santosh Kumar Mishra came third with 39,333 votes.
