Digital farming speed up in Bihar, Agristack campaign crosses 10 lakh farmers, 42% jump in one day

Bihar News: A major achievement has emerged in the direction of strengthening digital farming in Bihar. Under the Agristack campaign being jointly run by the Revenue and Land Reforms Department and the Agriculture Department, the state has crossed the important figure of 10 lakh farmer registry. Till now, registration of total 10 lakh 41 thousand 341 farmers has been completed. The special thing is that in a single day an increase of about 42 percent was recorded in the number of registrations, which is being considered a big success of the campaign.

What did the Deputy Chief Minister say on the achievement?

On this achievement, Deputy Chief Minister cum Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha praised the better coordination of both the departments, the active role of the district administration and the hard work of the employees working in the field. He said that with the creation of Unique Farmer ID, farmers will be able to get the benefits of all the schemes of Central and State Government including Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi on time and without any hassle. This will strengthen the economic condition of farmers and their families.

What is the purpose of government

The aim of the government is that every eligible farmer of the state should become digitally empowered. Keeping this goal in mind, the duration of the Agristack campaign has been extended till January 21. Principal Secretary of Revenue and Land Reforms Department, C.K. Anil informed that till 8 pm on January 9, 1 lakh 86 thousand 73 farmers were registered in a single day, which is about 69 percent of the daily target. This figure was much higher than that of January 8.

How was the district wise performance?

Talking about district wise performance, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Araria, Bhagalpur and Katihar have performed better by registering more than the target. Whereas in districts like Madhubani, Begusarai, Samastipur, Siwan, Saran and Kaimur the pace is relatively slow. In some districts, progress has been recorded less than the state average, to improve which special efforts are being made by the administration.

Technical assistance also increased

At present there is a gap between e-KYC and farmer registration. To overcome this, awareness campaigns as well as technical assistance are also being intensified. The administration is confident that the set target will be achieved within the stipulated time frame.
