Bihar: Big blow to Jan Suraj Party, Bhojpuri singer Ritesh Pandey resigns, gave this reason

Patna. Bhojpuri artist Ritesh Pandey resigned from Jan Suraj Party on Monday. Ritesh Pandey had contested the assembly elections held two months ago from the home constituency of party founder Prashant Kishore, although he had to face defeat.

Announcing the decision on ‘X’, he said, “He is not able to continue his “work” for which he got “so much love and affection” from the people, even though he was born in an “ordinary farmer family.” Pandey had contested the elections from Karakat (Karghar) seat. Ritesh Pandey had joined Jan Suraj Party in July 2025 and stood fourth in the elections and his deposit was also confiscated.

The Bhojpuri artiste clarified that he has no regrets about not being able to pursue his political career and that he is leaving the party membership because “it is not possible for him to continue his work while being a member of any political party”.
