Bihar government’s initiative, 120 year old Madhaura sugar mill will restart; Investors from Tamil Nadu arrived for inspection
Bihar News: Now real movement is visible in the direction of restarting the historical Marhaura Sugar Mill located in Saran district of Bihar. The government’s initiative regarding this mill, which was closed for many years, now seems to be on the ground. On Sunday, a delegation of investors from Tamil Nadu visited the mill premises and inspected the current situation here. This visit has given new hope to the people and farmers of the area.
inspected the entire premises
This delegation of investors carefully inspected the entire premises of the mill. He took stock of the old structures, machinery and available resources present there. Also tried to understand what kind of improvements and investment would be required if the mill were to be restarted.
New hope arose from inspection
Due to being closed for many years, Marhaura Sugar Mill has gradually become dilapidated. A large part of the mill complex now looks like ruins. In such a situation, when outside investors came here and assessed the possibilities, a ray of hope started appearing among the local people.
The members of the delegation believe that if the infrastructure here is re-developed with modern technology, then this mill can once again become a major center of economic development of the area. This will not only increase sugar production but can also provide employment to thousands of people.
New opportunity given by Seven Nishchay-3 scheme
Bihar government is making many efforts to restart the old sugar mills that were closed in the state. In this series, a new initiative has been started under the Government’s Seven Nishchay-3 scheme. Through this scheme, along with reviving the closed mills of the state, a plan has also been made to establish new sugar mills.
The government aims to establish about 25 new sugar mills in the state. Under this initiative, investors from SNJ Group of Companies of Tamil Nadu visited Marhaura Sugar Mill to explore possibilities. If investors see enough potential here, then concrete steps can be taken towards restarting the mill in the coming time.
direct conversation with farmers
During the inspection, the investors not only saw the mill premises, but also visited the nearby villages and talked to the sugarcane farmers. Farmers told him about many problems related to sugarcane production. He informed about the challenges related to farming costs, wages, irrigation, markets and payments.
Investors also visited the fields and saw the condition of the sugarcane crop. Their main objective was to understand whether there would be adequate supply of raw material i.e. sugarcane if the mill restarted. Farmers also expressed hope that if the mill starts again, they will get a better market for their crops.
This mill has historical identity
The history of Marhaura Sugar Mill is very old and important. It was established in the year 1904 during the British rule. At that time it was one of the earliest sugar mills in Bihar and was considered a major source of income for the nearby farmers.
Employment and economic activities will increase
Over time, due to various reasons, this mill closed and this affected the economy of the area. But now with the initiative of the government and the interest of private investors, the hope of restarting this historical mill seems to be getting stronger once again. If this scheme is successful, it will not only benefit the farmers but will also increase employment and economic activities in the entire region.
