Bihar government’s decision, 2 big good news for daughters
Patna. Bihar government has given two big good news under Mukhyamantri Nari Shakti Yojana to empower women and adolescent girls. The main objective of this scheme is to strengthen the talented daughters of the state socially, economically and educationally.
Objective and importance of the scheme
Mukhyamantri Nari Shakti Yojana is being run by Women and Child Development Corporation (WCDC) and Social Welfare Department of Bihar Government. Its objective is to make women self-reliant, to provide them facilities like skill development, security, counseling and financial assistance. Apart from civil service incentives, services like women’s helpline and short stay homes are also operated under the scheme.

Under this scheme, women who pass the preliminary examination of BPSC and UPSC are given financial assistance to prepare for the main examination.
For UPSC Candidates: One-time assistance of ₹1,00,000.
For BPSC Candidates: Financial assistance of ₹50,000.
Besides, women in distress are also provided legal aid, counseling and temporary accommodation facilities.
Who can become a beneficiary?
The applicant should be a permanent resident of Bihar.
The scheme is only for women and adolescent girls.
Women belonging to General, OBC/EBC category are eligible (separate schemes for SC/ST category).
It is mandatory to pass the preliminary examination of BPSC or UPSC in the respective year.
Application Process and Required Documents
Women can apply for the scheme both online and offline. For online application you can visit the website wcdc.bihar.gov.in. For offline, you can contact the District Program Office (ICDS) or Women and Child Development Corporation office.
