Bihar: Prashant Kishore confused about candidate in by-election, two candidates changed

Prashant Kishor, who recently entered the politics of Patna and Bihar, is seen in a dilemma regarding the candidates in the by-elections being held on four seats. Prashant Kishore on Wednesday announced the change of candidates from Belaganj and Tarari of Jansuraj Party. Prashant Kishor's party Jansuraj had earlier fielded Professor Khilafat Hussain as its candidate from Belaganj assembly seat. But, on Wednesday, the party changed its candidate and declared Amjad as the official candidate.

Jansuraj leader Prashant Kishore announced the change of candidates at a press conference in Arrah in the presence of party's acting president Manoj Bharti. He said that Mohammad Azad will be the official candidate of the party from Belaganj. Azad is a former chief and political activist. He has also contested elections from Belaganj in 2005 and 2010. Here, Jansuraj has made Kiran Singh the candidate from Tarari. Earlier the party had announced the nomination of army officer SK Singh as its candidate.

However, it was later said that his name was not in the voter list here. After this, Prashant Kishore also gave clarification regarding this. Kiran Singh, a social worker, has been active in Tarari regarding women empowerment. By-elections are being held on four assembly seats in Bihar, Tarari, Ramgarh, Belaganj and Imamganj. This by-election remains a question of prestige for the alliances NDA and Grand Alliance.

These four seats have become vacant after Sudama Prasad of CPI in Tarari, Surendra Yadav of RJD in Belaganj, Jitan Ram Manjhi of Hindustani Awam Morcha in Imamganj and Sudhakar Singh of RJD in Ramgarh reached the Lok Sabha. Voting will be held on all seats on November 13 and election results will be declared on November 23.
