Rohtas’ ropeway became a victim of corruption; built with Rs 13 crore, the trial itself was ruined, see VIDEO

Bihar Rohtas Ropeway Accident: The ropeway being built to reach the historical Rohtasgarh Fort located on Kaimur hill in Rohtas district of Bihar fell and got damaged during the trial. The accident occurred in Akbarpur area of Rohtas, where the ropeway was being tested. During the trial, several pillars of the ropeway suddenly got uprooted and the cabin-carriage carrying the passengers broke and fell down. Within no time the entire structure shattered on the ground.

The fortunate thing was that no one was present in the cabin during the trial, due to which there was no loss of life or property. If there were people in the cabin, it could have become a major accident. After the incident, there was chaos at the spot and the employees and officers working there were shocked.

According to the information, the trial of the ropeway was being done in the presence of engineers and technical experts. As soon as the empty cabin was sent from Akbarpur towards Rohtasgarh Fort, it had reached a short distance when suddenly a pillar fell. After this, many pillars started falling on the ground one by one. Within a few moments the entire ropeway system including machines and cabins completely collapsed. People nearby were also frightened as the iron structure fell with a loud noise.

It is being told that the construction of this ropeway was going on for the last six years and it has cost about Rs 13 crore 65 lakh. Its foundation stone was laid by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in the year 2019. Preparations were going on for its inauguration on the New Year.

Local people were hopeful that with the opening of the ropeway, it would become easier to reach Rohtasgarh Fort and the winding route of about 70 kilometers would be covered in a few minutes. But this hope of the people has been shattered due to the collapse of the ropeway during the trial itself and an atmosphere of despair has been created in the area.
