Not good for sand mafia! EOU has created a super task force, this is how it will be tightened

Bihar News: The Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) of the state police has taken a big step to crack down on illegal sand mining and the mafia network related to it in Bihar. On Wednesday, EOU constituted a special task force which will conduct a coordinated and stringent operation against sand mafia, land mafia and their related crimes. For this, detailed instructions have also been issued by EOU.

Command handed over to Dhillon

According to sources, the new task force will be headed by Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Dr. Manavjeet Singh Dhillon. Along with him, EOU Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar has been made co-in-charge. Apart from this, a strong structure has been created by including four officers of the level of Deputy Superintendent of Police and five officers of the level of Police Inspector in the team. This team will take united action on cases related to illegal mining across the state.

What will be the work of the task force?

According to the latest directory of EOU, the main objective of the task force is to ensure strict legal action against sand and land mafias. Along with this, this team will speed up the investigation processes by coordinating with expert agencies, concerned departments of the state government and administration of various districts. The team will not only take action against the criminals, but will also intensify financial investigation by identifying properties acquired from illegal mining, so that the economic roots of crime can be completely cut.

Task force formed after the order of Deputy Chief Minister

This initiative to curb illegal mining intensified after the recent instructions of Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. In a high-level meeting held a few days ago, the Deputy CM had ordered to take decisive action against illegal sand mining and land mafia. He had clearly said that not only FIR or arrest, but also equal emphasis should be given on investigation and confiscation of the proceeds of crime.

What is the goal of the government?

The aim of this initiative of the state government is to weaken the sand mafia network, stop the loss of government revenue and completely curb mining related crimes. With the formation of the new task force, the action of EOU is expected to become even faster and effective.
