Bihari players are at the forefront in hitting sixes in Vijay Hazare Trophy, complete list

The Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) 2025-26 season had started with a bang. On the very first day (24 December) of this premier List-A tournament of Indian domestic cricket, 22 centuries were scored. Bihar had scored 574 runs against Arunachal Pradesh. On the other hand, Karnataka easily achieved the target of 413 runs against Jharkhand by losing 5 wickets with 15 balls remaining. Legends like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma played explosive century innings.

 

The matches of the second round of this tournament were played on 26 December. Like the first round, the batsmen were in trouble in the second round too. Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Vidarbha and Uttar Pradesh scored above 300. Playing for UP, Rinku Singh played a stormy inning of 106 runs in 60 balls, hitting 11 fours and 4 sixes. On the other hand, Kohli’s bat spoke once again and he scored 77 runs in 61 balls against Gujarat on a difficult pitch.

Who is ahead in hitting sixes?

Vaibhav Suryavanshi of Bihar had scored 190 runs in 84 balls at a strike rate of 226.19 against Arunachal Pradesh in the first round match. During this period he hit 16 fours and 15 sixes. 14-year-old Vaibhav was in Delhi on 26 December to be honored with the Prime Minister’s Child Award, due to which he could not play in the second round. Still, he is at the top in terms of hitting most sixes in the current season.

 

Ishan Kishan is at number two. Ishaan is also a resident of Bihar. Although he plays for Jharkhand. Ishaan has been rested only after one match. He has 14 sixes in his name, which he hit during his innings of 125 runs in 39 balls against Karnataka. Bihar captain Sakibul Ghani is at third place in the list of ‘Sixer Kings’.

Sakibul has hit 12 sixes. He scored a century in 32 balls against Arunachal Pradesh. This is the record for the fastest century by an Indian player in List-A cricket. Sakibul had hit a dozen sixes during this innings. Railways’ Ravi Singh (12 sixes), Andhra’s Ricky Bhui (10 sixes) and Karnataka’s Devdutt Padikkal (10 sixes) are also included in the top-5.
