Delhi: Great batsman Virat Kohli, who turned 36 today, infused a new aggression in Indian cricket, due to which Team India started giving answers to bricks with stones. Earlier, Indian cricketers were known for their calm nature, while teams like England and Australia used to openly use sledging, but after the arrival of Kohli, the Indian team was filled with such confidence that now not only in the game, but also in words. Answers also started being given. The style of celebration after catches, along with responding to the bowlers on the field in their own style, set an example of new energy and courage in Indian cricket.

Born on 5 November 1988 in Delhi, Virat had such a passion for cricket that he kept playing even after the school sports period was over. Once, when his teacher asked him why he was not in class, he gave the reason that he gave priority to sports. On this the teacher advised him to work hard on whatever he likes. This touched Kohli's heart and he joined the Cricket Academy, where coach Rajkumar Sharma honed him.
Virat's passion for cricket can be gauged from the fact that even after his father's death in 2006, he continued batting in Ranji matches and scored 90 runs to draw the match for his team Delhi. This is proof of his dedication towards the game.
Kohli, who debuted for India in 2008, has made many records so far. He has scored 13906 runs in 295 ODI matches and also holds the record of scoring the fastest 13000 runs. Apart from this, Virat has scored a total of 80 centuries in all three formats and many other records are also in his name. As captain, he recorded 135 wins in 213 matches, which ranks him among India's most successful captains.
Kohli's recent performance has been disappointing
After recently retiring from T20 International cricket, Kohli is now a part of the ODI and Test teams. Although his recent performances have been disappointing, fans are still hoping to see glimpses of the old Virat from his bat in Australia.
