BJP declared names for Rajya Sabha elections 2026
New Delhi. Political activities are increasing rapidly for the Rajya Sabha elections to be held in 2026. In the final phase of the nomination process, BJP has released the list of 9 candidates. The name of Nitin Naveen from Bihar is included in this list, who is planned to be sent to Rajya Sabha from Bihar. Apart from this, the name of Rahul Sinha from West Bengal is also included in this list.
BJP candidates list
The list released by BJP includes a total of 9 names for different states. The list includes the names of Nitin Naveen and Shivesh Kumar from Bihar, Terash Gowala and Jegen Mohan from Assam, Manmohan Samal and Sujit Kumar from Odisha, Lakshmi Verma from Chhattisgarh, and Sanjay Bhatia from Haryana.
Upendra Kushwaha announced his candidature
Rashtriya Lok Morcha president Upendra Kushwaha has been nominated to become the official candidate from the NDA for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections. Party spokesperson Nitin Bharti said that this decision has been taken after consultation with the top leadership of NDA. Kushwaha will file his nomination in Bihar Assembly on March 5, in which leaders of all NDA parties will be present.
Election situation in the states
According to the Election Commission, the states where Rajya Sabha elections are to be held include Maharashtra (7 seats), Odisha (4 seats), Telangana (2 seats), Tamil Nadu (6 seats), Chhattisgarh (2 seats), West Bengal (5 seats), Assam (3 seats), Haryana (2 seats), Himachal Pradesh (1 seat) and Bihar (5 seats). Voting for all seats will be held on March 16 from 9 am to 4 pm, after which counting of votes will begin from 5 pm.

BJP President Nitin Naveen said on the occasion of Holi that this festival has special significance to be celebrated with family and workers in Bihar. He wished Holi to all the people of Bihar and said that this festival symbolizes the victory of good and defeat of evil. He also stressed on moving Bihar’s focus towards development.
