Ballimaran is a Muslim dominated assembly constituency of Old Delhi, where BJP has fielded Kamal Bagri. Kamal Bagri is currently a councilor from Ramnagar ward. From this seat, AAP has given ticket to Imran Hussain, while on the other hand, Congress has fielded veteran leader Harun Yusuf. Experts believe that both these Muslim candidates are in a much stronger position. BJP has placed its bet on Municipal Councilor Anil Gaur from Maujpur from this seat. From this seat, AAP has given ticket to Chaudhary Zubair Ahmed and Congress has given ticket to rebel leader Abdul Rehman. Muslim voters also dominate the Matia Mahal seat of Delhi. BJP has shown confidence in former Delhi BJP councilor candidate and youth leader Deepti Indora from here.
