“BJP has been looting Gujarat for 30 years”, Kejriwal’s big attack in Jamnagar; Punjab model cited: – ..
The political temperature has risen in Gujarat regarding the assembly elections to be held next year and the local body elections before that. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has put all its strength in the state. In this series, AAP’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, while addressing a public meeting in Jamnagar, made sharp attacks on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Kejriwal alleged that for the last three decades, the BJP has looted Gujarat’s resources and public trust, due to which the state’s basic facilities have fallen into disrepair.
“Schools and hospitals ruined, corruption at its peak”: Kejriwal’s serious allegations
From the land of Jamnagar, Arvind Kejriwal raised questions on the Gujarat model and said that 30 years ago Gujarat used to be the number 1 state in the country, but BJP has ruined it. He said:
Poor infrastructure: Roads get broken within two days of being built, the condition of schools and hospitals is pathetic.
Corruption prevails: It has become impossible to get work done in any government department without paying bribe.
Party of the rich: BJP has become a party working only for the interests of billionaires and millionaires.
Claim of ‘collusion’ between Congress and BJP
Kejriwal took on not only BJP but also the main opposition party Congress. He claimed that both the parties in Gujarat are in collusion internally and their leaders are running “joint businesses”. He alleged that Congress actually does not want BJP to be out of power, because both are complementary to each other.
Promise to repeat ‘Punjab Model’ in Gujarat
Chief Minister of Punjab in the rally Bhagwant Maan were also present. Giving the example of 2022 Punjab elections, Kejriwal said that there too two parties (Congress and Akali-BJP alliance) were in control for decades, but the public drove them out and gave a chance to AAP. He promised that if the people of Gujarat give him a chance, then like Punjab, farmers here too will be made happy and provided world class facilities.
Bhagwant Mann raised the issue of farmers and water
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann focused on local issues of Jamnagar, especially agriculture and irrigation. He said that farmers of Gujarat are still facing serious water problem. He raised the question that where did the promise of providing river water to every farm go? Mann said that in Punjab, a farmer’s son is the Chief Minister, hence the government of farmers is running there and the same change can be brought in Gujarat also.
