BJP breaks Mission Tamil Nadu, there will be alliance with this veteran actor’s party!
Tamilnadu Assembly Election 2026: Tamil Nadu BJP chief K. Annamalai on Wednesday maintained silence over a possible alliance with actor and leader Vijay’s party TVK ahead of the assembly elections. He said that he has no right to comment on this issue. However, he believed that priority should be given to consolidating all anti-DMK votes to ensure the defeat of the ruling DMK.

This is a matter beyond my jurisdiction. Earlier in the press conference, when asked whether he wanted to see actor-turned-politician Vijay joining the NDA, Annamalai said it was not a question of personal sentiments.
Target to consolidate anti-DMK votes
The best way to remove DMK from power is for all anti-DMK votes to unite. This is politics. The BJP leader described the electoral scenario in Tamil Nadu as a rare four-cornered contest. It includes the DMK-led alliance, AIADMK-led NDA, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) and Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) chief Seeman’s organisation. It has 8 to 9 percent share in the total votes.
Focus on ousting DMK from power
Recently Annamalai emphasized on the successes achieved by NDA. That includes adding a new coalition partner last week. He also mentioned the launch of the campaign with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally on January 23 in Chennai. Responding to the question whether Vijay wants to oust DMK from power, he said that it seems so from his speeches. In 90% of his speeches he attacks DMK. He wants DMK out of power.

Whose government is it now and what were the results of the last elections?
Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is in power in Tamil Nadu. MK Stalin is the Chief Minister. DMK had won 133 seats in the last assembly elections. The DMK-led alliance Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA) had captured 159 seats. The country’s largest party BJP could win only 4 seats. The party contested elections on 20 seats. A total of 2.6% votes were polled in the state.
