BJP steps up Punjab outreach ahead of crucial 2027 Assembly elections.
With an eye on the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched an extensive organisational revamp and intensified its political outreach across the state in a determined bid to emerge as a major electoral force. As part of this strategy, the party’s national president, Nitin Nabin, is scheduled to undertake a three-day visit to Punjab beginning June 21, aimed at reviewing and strengthening the BJP’s organisational machinery.
The visit comes at a crucial time as the BJP seeks to establish itself as an independent political force in Punjab following its split with its long-time ally, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). In recent months, several senior BJP leaders have made frequent visits to the state to energise party workers, strengthen grassroots networks and expand the party’s public outreach.
The three-day tour will commence on June 21, coinciding with International Yoga Day. During the visit, the BJP president is expected to participate in organisational programmes, interact with party office-bearers and grassroots workers, and assess the party’s preparedness for the 2027 Assembly elections. The visit is also aimed at accelerating organisational expansion and boosting cadre morale across the state.
Earlier, the BJP appointed Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon, a prominent Jat Sikh leader, as the new president of its Punjab unit, signalling the party’s intent to broaden its social and political appeal. Since his appointment, the BJP has stepped up its statewide outreach campaign with a renewed focus on strengthening the organisation and expanding its presence across Punjab ahead of the next Assembly polls.
