BJP is against infiltrators, not Muslims; Gadkari said, BJP is not against caste, religion or language
Gadkari said, I am confident that we will win both Assam and West Bengal
New Delhi. Expressing confidence in the party’s electoral prospects in Assam and West Bengal, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the BJP opposes infiltrators and not against Muslims. Assembly elections in Assam are to be held on April 9, while in West Bengal, voting will be held in two phases on April 23 and 29 and counting of votes will take place on May 4.
Gadkari said that I am confident that we will win in both Assam and West Bengal. BJP’s policy is to take everyone along regardless of religious identity. We are against infiltrators, not Muslims. Highlighting the party’s development agenda, he said large-scale infrastructure investment and governance-centric approach are key pillars of the BJP’s election strategy.
Work is being done on a project worth Rs 5 lakh crore
He said that work on projects worth about Rs five lakh crore is being done in the North-Eastern region including Assam. Infrastructure projects worth about Rs 1.5 lakh crore have been completed, while projects worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore to Rs 2 lakh crore are under construction. Apart from this, projects worth about Rs 2 lakh crore are proposed. He said these initiatives are aimed at improving connectivity, promoting trade and accelerating economic growth, especially in the areas of road transport, highways and logistics. Gadkari said, this sustained effort will transform the infrastructure landscape of Assam and the North-Eastern region.
BJP is not against caste, religion or language
Addressing a rally in Assam recently, he said India can give shelter to refugees with common heritage, but cannot accept those who have entered illegally, as that would turn the country into a hospice. Describing unity in diversity as the basic spirit of the country, Gadkari said that BJP is not against any caste, religion or language and supports giving rights as per the Constitution.
