BJP is against the Left, now Athawale invites the same CPM to join NDA

Republican Party of India (Athawale) chief Ramdas Athawale is a minister in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Centre. Often he is also seen talking in favor of NDA. On the other hand, the largest party of NDA i.e. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) calls the Left its arch opponent. Now Ramdas Athawale has invited the same left faction of Communist Party of India (Marxist) to join NDA. Ramdas Athawale, who reached Kerala, has asked CPM as well as Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to join NDA.

Ramdas Athawale, who arrived in Kerala on behalf of his party RPI (A), has said that his party is working to increase its membership in the state and is ready for the 2026 assembly elections. Now this statement of Ramdas Athawale has come at a time when BJP is ready to contest the elections in Kerala and after the recent victory in Thiruvananthapuram, it has also appointed its mayor.

Did Ramdas remember what he said?

While talking to the media in Kannur, Kerala on Wednesday, Ramdas Athawale said, ‘Hon’ble Vijayan is the Chief Minister in Kerala. He belongs to the Communist Party and has also been in power for many years. I appeal to Vijayan ji that if he joins NDA, it will be a very revolutionary decision. If the Communist Party joins the NDA, then it is obvious that Kerala will get more money and Kerala will develop well. He also said that if he joins NDA, LDF government will be formed in Kerala.

On the other hand, Left’s staunch opponent BJP is trying its best in Kerala. BJP’s new national president Nitin Nabin has also given a message to the organizations of all the states including Kerala on the very first day. Nitin Nabin has made senior leader Vinod Tawde in-charge of Kerala elections on the very first day. At the same time, Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje is co-in-charge.

In such a situation, it remains to be seen how much BJP agrees with Ramdas Athawale and how seriously the Left takes his proposal. At present, there has been no response from the Left or BJP on this.
