BJP leader raised questions on his own government regarding GST, made this request to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaran

New Delhi. Bharatiya Janata Party leader and spokesperson Ajay Alok has questioned the decision of his own government. He has opposed the decision to impose 18 percent GST on health insurance. Also requested Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to consider this decision immediately.

Ajay Alok has shared a post on social media X. In this he wrote that, I want to request Nirmala Sitharaman ji that for middle class income people…we pay full tax on time. What is given is deducted from the salary. We never get the benefit of any government scheme. 18% GST on health insurance too for us and Ayushman for everyone else. We are the people who take the country forward and do not depend on the government. Consider the decision immediately.

18% GST released on health insurance policy
The GST Council constituted the Group of Ministers (GoM) on Insurance under the chairmanship of Samrat Chaudhary, which in its meeting in November had agreed to exempt insurance premiums for term life insurance policies from GST. But, in the GST Council meeting on Saturday 21 December 2024, it was postponed till January.
