‘BJP leaders trying to weaken Shiv Sena’, why the ruckus in Sambhajinagar?

The Legislative Council elections going to be held in Maharashtra are now taking an exciting turn. Sameer Sattar, son of Shiv Sena leader Abdul Sattar, has also filed his nomination against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Sambhaji Nagar seat. Now Abdul Sattar has defended his son and said that Abdul Sattar has alleged that many BJP leaders have been trying to weaken Shiv Sena for a long time. At the same time, local BJP leaders say that this is wrong because it was the order of their (Shiv Sena) leader Eknath Shinde and it is very wrong to disobey his order.

According to the Mahayuti alliance, the Sambhajinagar-Jalna seat has gone to BJP. However, some leaders of Shiv Sena, which is strong in this district, do not agree with this decision. The matter has become exciting due to the sudden election of Sillod Municipal Council Chairman Sameer Sattar. At the last moment, his nomination was filed without his presence, which has created panic in the Mahayuti camp. However, there is still time left till June 4 to withdraw the nominations.

BJP leader Suhas Shirsat has been made its candidate from this seat. Shiv Sena and NCP have supported him but now the matter seems to be stuck due to Sameer Sattar filing nomination and Abdul Sattar supporting his son. On the other hand, the increasing closeness of Shiv Sena and Shiv Sena (Uddhav Bala Saheb Thackeray) can also increase the concerns of BJP.

What did Abdul Sattar say?

In defense of his son, Abdul Sattar has said, ‘We have no opposition to the candidate. BJP people have filled their forms. All the leaders of our Mahayuti are with him. Now what difference does it make if a city president is no more? These things happen in politics. There are 51-52 municipal servants, Zilla Parishad members, they are not getting justice. If he had got justice then today we would not have had the need to talk about this or make him fill the form.

He further said, ‘When justice is not available anyway, one tries one’s luck in politics. It’s not only my son who is trying. The current political situation is that local BJP leaders are working to weaken Shiv Sena on a large scale.

BJP raised questions

On this matter, BJP leader Atul Suve said, ‘BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis, Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde and Nationalist Congress Party leader Sunetra Pawar sat together and made a formula and distributed seats accordingly. Due to this, we filled the form from Sambhajinagar. All Shiv Sena leaders, NCP leaders and others were present but Abdul Satta was not there. It is very wrong that he filled the form. Not following the orders of their leader Eknath Shinde means insulting your leader and this is a very bad thing.

Let us tell you that elections are to be held for a total of 17 Legislative Council seats in Maharashtra and nominations have been filed on June 1. In Mahayuti, BJP is contesting on 11 seats, Shiv Sena on 4 and NCP on 2 seats. On the other hand, in Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), Congress is contesting on 8 seats, Shiv Sena (UBT) on 6 and NCP (Sharad Pawar) on only 3 seats. Independent candidates are also in a position to spoil the game on some seats.
