Charges framed against BJP MLA in CBI court

Ranchi: The special CBI court has taken cognizance of the allegations against Garhwa BJP MLA Satendra Nath Tiwari in the Alcatraz scam. The case dates back to 2003-04, in which his company, Kalavati Construction, has been accused of making illegal payments of Rs 2.23 crore through fake invoices. He has been charged under fraud and corruption. The court has directed CBI to present evidence in the case from February 20.

Scam details

The special court has ordered the CBI to present the evidence material of the case from February 20. MLA Satyendranath Tiwari, Kalavati Construction Pvt. Ltd. Has been the former director of. This case dates back to the year 2003-04, when Kalavati Construction started the construction work of Chhatarpur-Japla Road (32 km). The total cost of the scheme was approximately Rs seven crore.

circumstances of investigation

In this case, illegal activities related to the purchase of Alcatraz came to light in 2009, when the CBI started investigating the scam. During investigation it was observed that Kalavati Construction Pvt. Ltd. Of the 114 Alcatraz challans presented by the CBI, 61 were found to be completely fake. Out of these, illegal payment of Rs 2.23 crore was taken in the name of sale of 1200 metric tonnes of Altar on the basis of fake invoices. Tiwari is accused of misusing government funds as part of a criminal conspiracy and obtaining wrongful economic benefits.
