BJP Presidential Election: Nitin Nabin takes command of BJP at the age of 45, elected unopposed, official announcement tomorrow

New Delhi. Nitin Nabin (45) was elected unopposed as the national president of BJP on Monday. He is the youngest leader ever to hold this position. Nabin, a five-time MLA from Bihar, was the only candidate for the top party post in whose support Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior BJP leaders filed nomination papers. Naveen will be formally declared BJP president on Tuesday. He will replace JP Nadda, who has been holding the post of president for a long time since 2020.

Apart from Prime Minister Modi, many senior leaders including party president JP Nadda and Union ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari are also among those who proposed the proposal. Of the 37 sets of nomination papers, 36 were filed by state units of the party and one set was submitted by the BJP Parliamentary Party.

On this occasion, outgoing President Nadda, senior ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, Kiren Rijiju, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Naib Saini, Pramod Sawant, Pema Khandu and Pushkar Singh Dhami were present. Laxman said that as per the schedule, the process of nomination of BJP national president was completed between 2 pm and 4 pm on Monday.

“A total of 37 nomination papers were received in favor of Nitin Naveen for the post of National President. On scrutiny, all the nomination papers were found to be duly filled in the prescribed format and valid,” he said in a statement. He said the election process for the BJP national president was started after the election of presidents of 30 out of 36 states, which is much more than the minimum number required to complete the elections in 50 per cent of the states.

He said that the voter list was published on January 16 after notification of the programs was issued. Bharatiya Janata Party was founded in 1980 and Naveen was born in the same year. Naveen entered politics in 2006 after the death of his father Naveen Kishore Prasad Sinha, who was a BJP MLA. Naveen, who had been the Minister of Law and Justice, Urban Development and Housing in the Bihar government, was appointed the working president of BJP in December.
