Political activities have intensified for the assembly elections to be held in West Bengal. Political parties are busy campaigning vigorously. Meanwhile, BJP has released the fifth list of candidates. The Central Election Committee of BJP has announced the names of 5 candidates in the fifth list. Also, the party has released the revised list of names of candidates for three seats.
According to the list of candidates released by BJP, Anupam Biswas from Kalyani, Saurav Sikdar from Dum Dum North, Anindradya Raju Banerjee from Madhyamgram and Rudraprasad Banerjee from Uluberia East will contest the elections. Along with this, the party has released the revised list of three assembly seats. Now Kaushik Siddharth has been made the candidate from Basirhat North, Abhijeet Sardar from Vishnupur and Shankar Sikdar from Behala East.
BJP has announced the names of its candidates for 292 assembly seats in West Bengal. In the first list, the party had released the list of 144 candidates. The names of 111 candidates were included in the second list, 19 in the third list and 13 in the fourth list.
There are chances of a direct contest in West Bengal between the ruling TMC and BJP. In view of the assembly elections, big BJP leaders from all over the country are visiting Bengal. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a rally in Cooch Behar, Bengal on April 5. Let us tell you that this will be PM Modi’s first rally regarding Bengal Assembly elections 2026. Cooch Behar has special importance for BJP because in 2021, BJP had won 8 out of 9 assembly seats there.
Let us tell you that according to the Election Commission, voting will be done in two phases in West Bengal. Voting will be held in the first phase on April 23 and in the second phase on April 29. The election results will be released on May 4. At the same time, senior leaders of political parties are visiting Bengal amid the assembly elections. A war of words is also being seen between leaders of different parties.
