BJP started candidate selection exercise, sought opinion from workers – ..


Amidst the preparations for Delhi Assembly elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has also accelerated the process of selection of its candidates. After Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress, now BJP is taking steps towards deciding candidates for 70 assembly seats.

More than 2,000 applications for tickets

More than 2,000 people have applied to get tickets for 70 assembly seats in Delhi.

  • BJP has appointed leaders at the district level, who will prepare the list of possible candidates after taking opinions from workers and local leaders.
  • This list will be handed over to senior party leaders, who will take the final decision.

BJP has appointed district wise leaders as observers for identification and selection of candidates:

  • Keshavpuram: Arvind Menon
  • Chandni Chowk: Lal Singh Arya
  • North East Delhi: Anil Antony
  • Naveen Shahdara: Sameer Oraon
  • Mayur Vihar: Dr. Alka Gurjar
  • Shahdara: Mahendra Pandey
  • Karol Bagh: Amit Malviya
  • New Delhi: Sanjay Mayukh
  • North West Delhi: Harish Dwivedi
  • Outer Delhi: Vijaya Rahatkar

Virendra Sachdeva's target on Aam Aadmi Party

BJP Delhi State President Virendra Sachdeva launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party on Monday. Addressing a convention of auto drivers, he accused the AAP government of making false promises.

  • Sachdeva said:

    “Auto drivers are demanding accounts of the last 10 years. The AAP government has only cheated by making false promises.”

Auto drivers support BJP

Auto drivers took part in the support rally under the leadership of Sachdeva at the BJP state office located at Pant Marg.

  • Sachdeva said:
    • “The AAP government had promised to build hundreds of auto stands, but till today auto drivers are waiting for it.”
    • “Promises like stopping bribery and stopping auto seizure have also not been fulfilled.”

Support of traders and entrepreneurs

Under the banner of Laghu Udyog Bharti, a delegation of traders and entrepreneurs reached the BJP state office and thanked them for solving the problems related to factory licenses.

  • Sachdeva raised questions on the functioning of the AAP government and said that the AAP government never paid attention to the problems of small businessmen and entrepreneurs.
