BJP’s dominance again in Assam, signs of return of Himanta government, big blow to opposition
Tezzbuzz Desk- The early trends of Assam Assembly elections have once again given strong signals in favor of the ruling coalition. According to the latest data, the BJP-led NDA alliance in the state is leading in all three areas – urban, semi-urban and rural, which seems to strengthen the chances of the current government returning to the state.
Out of 15 assembly seats in urban areas, BJP is leading in 13 seats. This is a clear indication that the party’s hold in the cities remains strong this time too and it seems to be continuously getting the support of the voters.
BJP’s performance has been impressive even in semi-urban areas. Out of 22 seats here, the party is leading in 18 seats. This trend shows that BJP has received widespread support among both the urban and rural population.
NDA’s dominance is visible even in rural areas. Out of 89 assembly seats, BJP is leading in 68 seats. This trend of rural voters makes the electoral picture of the state more clear.
Amidst these trends, the initial results for Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi and AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal are considered disappointing, as the expected performance is not being seen in the areas under their influence.
These initial figures indicate that the return of a BJP-led government is possible once again in Assam. However, these are only initial trends and the complete picture will be clear only after the final results are out.
At present, all eyes are on the counting centers across the state and supporters of political parties are constantly waiting for updates.
