BJP’s Plan-B ready in Bengal, direct attack on Mamata didi stopped, now target only TMC government, know what is the new strategy – ..
News India Live, Digital Desk: A big upheaval is being seen in the politics of West Bengal. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made a major change in its electoral and political strategy in the state overnight. Now senior BJP leaders are avoiding making personal attacks on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, rather their entire focus is now on cornering the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government and its functioning.
Why was the method of attack changed?
According to sources, the top leadership of BJP has realized that making personal comments on Mamata Banerjee often backfires for the party. The image of ‘Didi’ in Bengal politics is that of a militant woman leader, and a direct attack on her creates sympathy factor among the voters. Keeping this in mind, now the strategy has been changed.
Focus on government policies and corruption
Under BJP’s new game plan, leaders will now talk only on government policies, corruption allegations and law and order issues. The party believes that anti-incumbency wave can be taken advantage of only by creating a difference between ‘government’ and ‘individual’. Now in BJP’s slogans and speeches, the words “failure of TMC government” are being used more instead of “Mamata Banerjee”.
Reservation and recruitment scam made a weapon
BJP is now more aggressively raising issues like teacher recruitment scam and irregularities in ration distribution that have taken place in the state in recent years. BJP’s aim is to prove that the problem is not in any one face, but in the entire governance system. With this strategy, the party hopes that they will be able to attract those neutral voters who respect Mamata Banerjee but are not happy with the work of the government.
Workers received new instructions
The Bengal BJP unit has given a clear message to its grassroots workers that they should maintain the decorum of language in social media and public meetings. Put the government in the dock with figures and facts instead of personal sarcasm. This change has been made especially keeping in mind the upcoming elections and local body elections.
