Blessing Muzarabani Joins KKR as Rahman’s Replacement for IPL 2026 Season
The Zimbabwe pacer Blessing Muzarabani has joined the KKR 2026 squad ahead of the 19th edition of the season.
He will be replacing Mustafizur Rahman, who has been released by the franchise due to political tension between the countries.
He then joined Lahore Qalandars for PSL 2026, days after being released by KKR. The franchise announced the signing on March 13, which is two weeks before the start of the 2026 season of the Indian Premier League.
Muzarabani, who has been committed to PSL with Islamabad United, has pulled out of the Pakistan league to join KKR in IPL 2026.
The 6 ft 8″ was roped in after his impressive campaign at the T20 World Cup 2026, where he picked 13 wickets to emerge as the joint second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament.

His ability to deliver bounce and strike in pressure conditions has been perfect for the Riders. This will be his second stint with an IPL team, as he was part of RCB last year. However, he did not make a single appearance despite coming in as an injury replacement.
Blessing Muzarabani has significant experience, having claimed 90 wickets in more than 80 T20 internationals at an average of around 21, with best figures of 3/8.
His pace and consistency across global leagues and international cricket will add further depth to KKR’s pace attack.
We will arrive in Kolkata on March 17 and join the squad before Kolkata Knight Riders kick off their campaign against Mumbai Indians as per the IPL 2026 schedule.
Apart from it, Blessing Muzarabani has featured in CPL, ILT20, PSL and England’s Vitality Blast. His addition could be crucial for KKR as the franchise is currently struggling with injury concerns – Matheesha Pathirana and Harshit Rana.
