Good news for Australia cricket team, this player became fit before Sri Lanka test series

Matthew Kuhnemann: Good news has come for the Australian cricket team before the two-Test series against Sri Lanka. Spinner Matthew Kuhneman has been declared fit for this series after undergoing surgery on a broken thumb. Kuhneman broke his right thumb during a Big Bash League match last week.

A statement issued by Cricket Australia said, “Kuhnemann has been able to bowl in training this week. He will reach Sri Lanka by the end of this week. On Thursday, Kuhneman said the pain in his surgically operated thumb was almost gone and he resumed bowling, batting and fielding in Brisbane.

Kuhneman bowled and also batted eight overs at the Allan Border Field on Thursday. He also took some catches while fielding.

Let us tell you that both the Test matches against Sri Lanka are to be held in Galle, which is a pitch helpful for spin bowlers, hence Kuhneman is an important member of the team. Kuhneman is among the three specialist spin bowlers selected for the Sri Lanka tour, along with Nathan Lyon and Todd Murphy.

Before this, acting captain Steve Smith has also got the green signal for this series. Smith suffered an elbow injury during the Big Bash League match, but after seeing a specialist, he joined the team's training camp in Dubai.

Two Test matches between Sri Lanka and Australia will be played from 29 January and 6 February, followed by a series of two ODI matches on 12 February and 14 February. This series is very important for Australia in view of the Champions Trophy starting from 19th February, let us tell you that Sri Lanka has not been able to qualify for this tournament.
