'I want to play Test cricket for India', will Sanju's dream come true?

After scoring his first T20 century in the third T20 match against Bangladesh in Hyderabad, Sanju Samson has once again become a fan favorite. At the same time, Sanju has also opened his heart and said that he not only wants to play white ball cricket but also wants to represent India in the longer format.

Samson recently scored a century in 40 balls against Bangladesh, which is the second fastest century by an Indian in T20 International. The 29-year-old Samson has joined the Kerala squad for the Ranji Trophy second round match against Karnataka starting on Friday in Bengaluru. Samson spoke from his heart while talking to reporters in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday.

Sanju said, “I believe I have the skills to be successful in red-ball cricket and I don't want to limit myself to just white-ball cricket. My desire is to play Test cricket for India. Before the Duleep Trophy, the leadership group had told me that they were considering me for red-ball cricket and asked me to take it seriously and play more Ranji Trophy matches.”

Samson recently represented India D in the second and third rounds of the Duleep Trophy in Anantapur. Samson scored his 11th first-class century in his second match for India D. The Kerala batsman took part in four Ranji Trophy matches last season, in which he scored 176 runs, but his team failed to reach the knockouts.

Speaking further, Samson said, “My preparation this time was good. After the series against Sri Lanka, I trained with Rahul Dravid sir and Zubin Bharucha at the RR (Rajasthan Royals) academy and worked on my game. In the Duleep Trophy The century gave me a lot of confidence because it was against some of the best bowlers in the country.”
