'His desire is to become the captain of India…' What has the owner of Delhi Capitals now revealed about Rishabh Pant…!!
Delhi Capitals Owner Parth Jindal on Rishabh Pant Controversy: Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal revealed that the franchise made every effort to retain Rishabh Pant ahead of the IPL mega auction, but the star wicketkeeper batsman is on “different wavelengths” over how to operate the team. Due to which he had to be dropped from the team. Actually, Capitals did not retain Rishabh Pant and the left-handed player was recently sold to Lucknow Super Giants in the mega auction for Rs 27 crore, becoming the most expensive player in the history of IPL.
Let us tell you that Delhi Capitals owner Parth Jindal, while talking to Cricinfo, said, “It was just a different philosophy of how he wanted the franchise to run and how we – the owners – wanted the franchise to run. That's why (Pant's departure) it is not related to money. Money has never been an issue for Rishabh. And money has never been an issue for us either. I think all three of us (Kiran Grandhi, Jindal and Pant) were on different wavelengths. He finally took a decision. “We tried everything, but they ultimately decided it was time to move on.”
Parth Jindal said, “So, what were those points of difference? That means the way the franchise is run, the decisions the franchise makes, things like that. There were certain expectations that they had and there were certain expectations that we had. “All I can say is that we could not agree on these things.” In fact, during this, Jindal also admitted that the franchise's expectations on the leadership role did not match the idea which was based on the long-term ambition in Rishabh Pant's mind to captain India.
Parth Jindal further said, “We gave him some feedback about leadership. We told them how they could improve, but we were very clear that we know their ambitions, we know where they want to go. He has made it clear that his dream and desire is to captain India and that starts with captaining an IPL team.”
