Injustice done to KL Rahul! Aakash Chopra made serious allegations against Rohit Sharma and head coach Gautam Gambhir

KL Rahul: India has won the first match of the 2-match Test series against Bangladesh by a huge margin of 280 runs. The hosts had to achieve a huge target of 515 runs in the last innings, but they collapsed by scoring just 234 runs. Despite this big win, former cricketer and current commentator Aakash Chopra is not happy with a decision of captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Gautam Gambhir and he is criticizing them fiercely.

Injustice happened with KL Rahul

Aakash Chopra says that India should have given KL Rahul enough batting time before declaring the score in the second innings. There were two days left in the match. In such a situation, KL Rahul, who is looking in good touch, could have scored a big score in the second innings. In fact, for India, who were leading by 227 runs on the basis of the first innings, there was a huge partnership for the fourth wicket between Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill in the second innings. Both scored centuries and took India to a big score.

In such a situation, when KL Rahul came on the field after Rishabh was out, he also batted aggressively. He scored 22 runs with the help of 4 fours in just 19 balls. It was expected that Rahul, who is struggling with poor form, would play a big innings today. But then India's innings was declared.

What did Akash Chopra say?

47-year-old Aakash Chopra, while criticising the decision to declare the innings and expressing sympathy with KL, said, “You made him (KL Rahul) open, you made him play in the middle order. Now you have sent him down the order and when he got a chance to bat, you did not give him enough time. If he is unhappy with this, then he should be. Just like we all are feeling.”

Let us tell you that Akash said this on air while commenting on Jio Cinema. But after this, he also shared a post on social media focusing on this matter.

Akash Chopra shared a post on his X account and wrote, “This may sound a bit strange, but it has happened again. India had the option to enforce follow-on but did not do so, as it was fair to give the batsmen another chance. A Test match is being played after a long time.”

“Rahul (KL Rahul), who was playing very well, should also have been given a chance to bat full time. If the runs of the first 5 batsmen were important, then why was it not so for the batsman batting at number 6?”
