Deepti Sharma has a great opportunity to create history by leaving Megan Schutt behind, she will become the first Indian to achieve this feat.

The third match of the T20 series between India and Sri Lanka women’s team will be played on Friday (26 December) at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. By winning both the initial matches, the Indian team has already taken a strong lead in the series and in the third match, its eyes will be on winning the series.

Before this important match, Indian spin all-rounder Deepti Sharma is in the center of discussion. She could not be a part of the team in the second T20 match due to mild fever, but now she is completely fit. Team India head coach Amol Majumdar made it clear in the pre-match press conference on Thursday (December 25) that Deepti is available and ready to play.

If Deepti Sharma gets a chance in the third T20, she can make a big record in bowling. Deepti has so far taken 148 wickets in 130 matches at an average of 18.99 in Women’s T20 International. She is just four wickets away from becoming the highest wicket taker in this format. Currently, this record is in the name of Australia’s veteran fast bowler Megan Schutt, who has taken 151 wickets in 123 matches.
