Team India canceled the practice match against India A, BCCI took the decision for this reason

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken a major decision to protect players from injuries before the start of the five-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy. BCCI has reportedly canceled the three-day intra-squad match between India and India A team. The three-day intra-squad game was supposed to be the only practice match to be played by the Indian cricket team in Australia but now this match has also been cancelled.

According to reports by ESPN Cricinfo and Press Trust of India, the team will focus on training sessions during those three days. The training sessions will include net sessions and center wicket match simulation scenarios at the WACA. Rohit Sharma's team will start the five-match Test series against Australia with the Perth Test.

The first test will be played from 22nd November. The Test series against Australia will also affect which team qualifies for the World Test Championship final. India need at least four wins out of six, including the Mumbai Test, while Australia need five wins out of seven to regain the top spot. In such a situation, there is going to be a tough competition between the two teams.

Earlier, in the 2018–19 series, the Indian cricket team faced Cricket Australia XI in a four-day match. The 15-player India A team, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, has been in Australia since last month to play four-day matches against Australia A at Mackay and the MCG.
