Maxwell's feelings were hurt by this attitude of Sehwag and he was not a fan of Sehwag after the season.

Glenn Maxwell exposes Virender Sehwag in 'The Showman'!

Glenn Maxwell has shared his experience of captaining Punjab Kings in his book 'The Showman'. Maxwell has written that he met Sehwag during the India-Australia Test series in 2017. At the same time, Sehwag had told Maxwell that he would get the captaincy of Punjab.

Maxwell further said, 'I was wrong. When our coach J Arunkumar came for the season, I realized that he was a coach in name only. Sehwag used to take all the decisions. The dressing room was completely disturbed after the first two matches of the season. Coaches and players would come to me and ask what was going on and I had no answer.

According to Maxwell, Sehwag liked to take every decision himself and did not obey anyone before him. The franchise wanted to form a group on WhatsApp with all the coaches of the team, but Sehwag did not find this decision right. Being a mentor, he used to take many decisions which made no sense. He used to change the fixed playing 11 before the start of the match.

Don't want a fan like you- Virender Sehwag

It is known that in IPL 2014, Punjab Kings missed reaching the playoffs by just one win. Maxwell had a good performance with the bat and scored more than 300 runs. After the team's last match, Maxwell wanted to attend the press conference, but Sehwag had his own way here too and refused to let him go. Sehwag himself wanted to go to the conference. According to Maxwell, I prepared myself to talk to the media that night, but Sehwag said that he would go to the conference. Upon boarding the team bus, I learned that I had been removed from the main WhatsApp group. What was happening here? By the time we reached the hotel, my phone started ringing. Sehwag had accused me of being a “big disappointment”, blaming me for not taking responsibility as captain and everything else. It wasn't right, especially when I thought we parted ways on good terms. I messaged him and told him how sorry he was to read those comments and also that he had lost a fan in me because of the way he handled himself. On this, Sehwag replied that there is no need of a fan like you. We never spoke again.
