Shreyas Iyer said on being retained by KKR
Talking to the media, Shreyas Iyer said, “I enjoyed winning this game while playing for KKR. The number of fans was very good and I enjoyed every moment I spent there.”
He (Shreyas Iyer) further said, “So obviously we had a conversation immediately after the IPL Championship. But no talks took place for a few months and not much effort was made regarding retention. I was shocked by what was happening. Therefore, due to lack of communication we came to a situation where we decided to part ways with mutual consent.”
Shreyas Iyer expressed his disappointment
When asked about not being retained, Shreyas Iyer said, “Yes, obviously disappointed, because when you don't have a set line of conversation. And if you come to know things a week before the date of retention. So obviously something is missing there. So I had to take a decision. What is written should happen. But apart from that I would just like to say that the time I spent there with Shahrukh sir, the family, all of them. That was fantastic and obviously, winning the championship was probably an integral part of my life.”
Shreyas will captain the Punjab team
During the mega auction, many teams had their eyes on Shreyas Iyer. Now Shreyas Iyer is in the Punjab Kings team. Shreyas Iyer was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 12.25 crore in the IPL 2022 auction and this time he wanted a higher salary than this. Now Punjab team has bought him and he will captain them.
