A terrible explosion in Pakistan on the first day of Ramadan (Pakistan Blast). A part of a multi-storey building collapsed. This tragic incident took place in the city of Karachi on Thursday morning. So far 16 deaths have been reported in the incident. A few others were injured. The dead included many children and women.
According to police sources, there was a sudden explosion on the second floor of the multi-storey building located in Soldier Bazar on Wednesday night. The surroundings shook with a loud sound. Then a part of the multi-storey collapsed. The entire incident caused great excitement in the area. It is reported that 16 people have died in the accident so far. Several people were injured. The police and rescue team reached the spot after receiving the information. But what caused the explosion? According to local sources, a cylinder exploded on the second floor of the multi-storey building. This caused the accident. However, the investigators are looking into the whole matter. Rescue work is going on in the wartime operation since night. The injured were rescued and admitted to a nearby hospital. They are currently under treatment there.
Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed grief over the accident. He expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased. Besides, he assured that all assistance will be given to the injured.
