BMC elections: CM Fadnavis said after voting – ‘Our victory is certain, dispute on everything is not right’

Nagpur, 15 January. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, after voting with his family in the BMC elections in his hometown Nagpur on Thursday, claimed that Mahayuti’s victory in the elections is certain.

While talking to the media, CM Fadnavis hit back at the statements of opposition leaders regarding voting and said, ‘I think the opposition should write a new script. His current script is outdated. They lost in the High Court, lost in the Supreme Court. Still following the same old script. This clearly shows that our victory in this election seems certain because if the opposition is already practicing what to say after yesterday’s defeat, then it tells a lot.

Congress attacked Bhushan Shingde, but the public will answer

Referring to the incident in Nagpur, Chief Minister Fadnavis said, ‘Our candidate Bhushan Shingde was attacked by Congress workers in Nagpur. His hand was broken. There were injuries on hands and head and the people present with him were also injured. When they cannot win the elections, carrying out such attacks is like spreading darkness on democracy. But the public will respond and I am confident that the public will respond to whoever has opposed me.

Appeal to everyone to vote for strengthening democracy and good governance

Regarding BMC elections, CM said, ‘Our democracy is such a unit, which can be considered the foundation of democracy. Therefore it is very important to vote. I appeal to all those who believe in India’s democracy to vote. I believe that voting is not only your right but also your duty. If we want good governance in a democracy then we should go and vote. That’s why I also voted. I appeal to all people to vote, vote in large numbers and not stay at home. I urge everyone to participate in this spirit of democracy.

‘Be careful on ink controversy, avoid unnecessary conflict

On the statement of opposition leaders regarding erasure of ink marks after voting, he said, ‘I have already raised this issue. Now it must be handled carefully. See if anything is being changed. See what’s happening in front of you. If there is any objection then it should be raised before the Election Commission. If something has to be used then it can be done. I say if you want to use oil paint then do it. Elections should be fair, but it is wrong to create unnecessary controversy over every small thing.
