BNP seems to be getting the lead in the trends of the 13th national elections, but the party leadership has asked the workers to exercise restraint. Chairman Tariq Rehman has directed that instead of celebrations or victory rallies, prayers should be offered across the country after Friday prayers. It has been clearly stated by the party that no public celebration or rally should be held anywhere and peace should be maintained.
After the general elections in Bangladesh, the political picture seems to be becoming increasingly clear. Amidst the counting of votes, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has claimed victory and several media reports have said that the party has secured more than 151 seats in the 300-member Parliament, which is considered enough to form the government. However, the official announcement has not been made yet by the Election Commission and the results of some seats are yet to come. BNP said on social media that it is ready to form the government with majority. There is also news of increase on more than 200 seats. The party that wins the elections will replace the interim administration that took over after the ouster of the Awami League government in August 2024.
