Dhaka. Political activities are increasing rapidly in Bangladesh ahead of the upcoming general elections. Currently, the country is moving towards electing a full-time Prime Minister for the first time. Following the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government in August 2024, there has been a major change in the political landscape with her party Awami League being banned.

According to the latest pre-poll surveys, Bangladesh National Party (BNP) has got a significant lead. Whereas Jamaat-e-Islami seems to be lagging behind. It is clear from these surveys that the influence of BNP is increasing in the electoral field, due to which it is being estimated that they can play a major role in the upcoming elections.
