A trailer for an upcoming film Bandar has been released, which shows a dark story revolving around celebrity culture, law and order issues, and a questionable public image.
The film is backed by Zee Studios and produced by Saffron Magicworks. It marked the first collaboration between Bobby Deol and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap.
The trailer showed a disturbing and gritty world where celebrity culture, legal trouble, and suspicion overlapped. It followed the story of a former rockstar caught in a serious criminal case.
Bobby played the role of Sameer Mehra, a once-famous musician who struggled to stay relevant while his personal life collapsed. The trailer opened with scenes from a glamorous party before shifting into a darker tone.
The story took a major turn when his character was arrested after a woman, played by Sapna Pabbi, filed a complaint against him.
Another interesting aspect of this trailer is that it represents the style of director Anurag Kashyap. The trailer does not make any distinction between good and evil but focuses on moral issues.
Sanya Malhotra appeared as Sameer’s sister, who directly questioned his actions in the story. Several prison scenes were also shown, highlighting violence, isolation, and mental pressure on the character.
The cast also included Saba Azad, Raj B Shetty, Riddhi Sen, Jitendra Joshi, Indrajeet, and Nagesh Bhonsle.
The film’s screenplay was written by Sudip Sharma and Abhishek Banerjee.
Produced under Saffron Magicworks, Bandar was presented as a dark thriller exploring fame, downfall, and consequences.The film was scheduled to release on June 5.
