According to news agency ANI, this case has been registered on the complaint of a resident of Mohalla Misrana. The complainant alleges that Shreyas Talpade and his associates had lured the villagers with an investment scheme. The villagers were told that a new branch of ‘Mumbai Bank’ was being opened in the area, in which there would be huge profits if the money was invested. Many innocent villagers of Bhogaon trusted the actor’s face and invested their hard-earned money in this scheme. Later it was revealed that the bank itself was fake and the invested amount also went missing.
Police started investigation after court order
On Tuesday, February 10, the local police registered an FIR in this matter after the intervention of the court. According to police sources, a case has been registered against Shreyas Talpade and his 12 associates under serious sections of the IPC. Bhogaon police is now investigating who is the real mastermind behind this fake bank and where the defrauded amount has been transferred. Police may soon send summons to the people involved in this case for questioning.
The connection with controversies is old: cases have been registered earlier also
This is not the first time that Shreyas Talpade’s name has come up in a financial scam. Last year too, a case of fraud was registered against 22 people including Shreyas Talpade and veteran actor Alok Nath in Baghpat. The allegation at that time was regarding investment in ‘Loni Urban Multi-State Credit and Thrift Cooperative Society’, of which Shreyas was the brand ambassador. Shreyas Talpade’s image has taken a big blow due to his name appearing in fraud cases repeatedly.
